When we
launched Chiller, we knew that we had to walk a fine
line. We wanted to attract all the true hardcore horror
fans, but knew that it would never survive without the
more mainstream fans. We played up the psychological
thriller aspects, and played down the slasher &
bloody parts. We also promoted our "vintage"
inventory with a reverent eye for the classic. With an
incredibly small budget, and relatively limited
programming, we were able to make a national name for
Chiller, and in under two years double its
subscribership base.
